Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan will go head-to-head for the first time ever in a competitive meeting in the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena on Saturday night.
Both clubs have overcome adversity to get this far, with PSG fighting back from a woeful start in the league phase to reach the knockouts, where they had to overturn a first-leg deficit at Anfield, before seeing off Aston Villa and Arsenal.
Inter Milan also snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in their semi-final against Barcelona, reaching a second final in three years, and setting up a first meeting with the French giants.
As two heavyweights of the European game though, their paths have crossed previously in friendlies over the past decade, and here, Sports Mole looks back at those head-to-head meetings.

Previous meetings: 5*
PSG wins: 3
Draws: 0
Inter Milan wins: 2 (1 on pens)
*all friendlies
The first three meetings between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan came in successive years, between 2014 and 2016.
Friendlies in 2014 and 2015 came during the club's respective winter breaks, and both ended in 1-0 wins for PSG, with Yohan Cabaye scoring the only goal in the first clash, which took place in Marrakech.
On the same date the following year in late December in Qatar, PSG were victorious again, as Jean-Kevin Augustin netted late in the first half, in what was, truth be told, a difficult era for the Nerazzurri, who came eighth and fourth in those two seasons.
The two crossed paths again just six months later, in the fourth edition of the then-annual pre-season International Champions Cup, which took place all over the world, and the result followed suit to the previous two meetings, as PSG won again, with two goals from Serge Aurier, and another from fellow full-back Layvin Kurzawa sealing a 3-1 victory.
Inter finally got their first win at the fourth attempt, when the sides met in Macau for a pre-season friendly in 2019, as Samuele Longo's 94th-minute goal forced a penalty shootout, which the Nerazzurri would go on to win 6-5.
Fast forward to 2023, and there was a familiar look to both of the two XI's that lined up for a friendly in Tokyo, as the Inter team that night could be exactly the same as the one that starts in the final in Munich, apart from goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who had not yet signed for the club.
Inter got the better of PSG, this time doing so in regulation time, as Sebastiano Esposito and Stefano Sensi came off the bench to score goals in the final 10 minutes, overturning Vitinha's opener for the French side.
