Led by Nuno Espirito Santo, Nottingham Forest challenged for Champions League qualification last term, but they had to be satisfied with seventh spot after they ran out of steam in the final third of the 2024-25 campaign.
Seventh had seen them initially qualify for the Conference League, with European football back at the City Ground.
Forest have since been promoted to the Europa League, though, as Crystal Palace were removed from the European competition after it was controversially deemed that the Eagles had breached multi-club ownership rules.
Nuno's side have only made two signings during this summer's transfer window, with Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha arriving from Botafogo, but they have managed to make some serious money through player sales.
Indeed, in excess of £80m has been raised by those who have left the club, including Anthony Elanga, with the Sweden international making a £55m move to Newcastle United.
Morgan Gibbs-White continues to be linked with a move away from Forest, and it does appear likely that the England international will depart before the end of the summer transfer window.
It will be incredibly difficult for Forest to match what they achieved last season, especially if more important players leave before the market closes for business.
Forest will begin their 2025-26 Premier League campaign with a clash against Brentford on August 17, while they will also tackle Crystal Palace and West Ham United before the end of next month.
