Manchester United's interim boss Ralf Rangnick is reportedly keen to integrate academy graduate Hannibal Mejbri into his first-team plans.

The 19-year-old is set to return to England after his international commitments with Tunisia at the Africa Cup of Nations came to an end, following their elimination from the tournament in the quarter-finals.

Mejbri has been a regular for the United's Under-23s squad and it is understood that Rangnick and his assistant coaches are now prepared to hand the midfielder the opportunity to join the first team.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Mejbri has opted to train with the senior squad when he returns to Manchester, instead of taking a holiday after his involvement at AFCON.

Mejbri will continue to play with the club's academy team but he will also be available to feature in Rangnick's senior matchday squads.

The report adds that several Championship clubs have been interested in signing the teenager on loan, but all the proposals United have received were not considered suitable for the player or the club.

Mejbri made his only first-team appearance for the Red Devils when he came on as a late substitute in their 2-1 Premier League win away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of last season.
