Borussia Dortmund are reportedly not in the race for Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho this summer.

Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho has reportedly been rejected by Borussia Dortmund.

The 25-year-old has returned to the Theatre of Dreams from Chelsea, who have already given Mamadou Sarr the number of the Red Devils attacker.

During a loan stint at Stamford Bridge during the 2024-25 campaign, Sancho scored three goals and provided four assists across 31 Premier League appearances.

The former Three Lions star was largely inconsistent but managed a magical moment last month when he scored in the Conference League final versus Real Betis.

As a result, Sancho departed West London as a European champion but faces an uncertain future heading into new term.

Sancho-Dortmund reunion off the cards?

According to German outlet BILD, Sancho will not be making a return to a former employer during the summer transfer window.

The report claims that Borussia Dortmund are not in the race to secure the services of the 25-year-old ahead of the new campaign.

It is understood that Sancho's salary of roughly £15m per year is too expensive for a side who only just made the Champions League.

However, there could still be a high-profile move on the cards for the attacker, who is yet to reinvigorate his career since departing Dortmund in 2021.

It is believed that Premier League trio Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Newcastle United could all be potential destinations for Sancho.

Sancho's Stamford Bridge struggle

Sancho was supposed to be lining up in 2025-26 as a Chelsea player, with the Blues having an obligation to permanently sign the attacker for £25m this summer.

However, after the 25-year-old failed to impress enough at Stamford Bridge, Enzo Maresca's men opted to pay the £5m compensation fee to avoid purchasing the player.

As a result, Sancho is now sitting on the books of Manchester United, unlikely to feature in any plans under Ruben Amorim.
