Manchester United reportedly show an interest in Metz striker Idrissa Gueye, while Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are also keen.

Manchester United are reportedly showing an interest in Metz striker Idrissa Gueye.

The 18-year-old featured on 20 occasions for his French club during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring five times and registering one assist, and he has helped his club secure a return to France's top flight for next term.

Gueye has a contract with his current team until June 2029, having only arrived from Generation Foot in January.

The teenager helped Generation Foot win the Senegalese Ligue 1 title in 2022-23 when he was just 16, and he scored 12 goals in 26 appearances for the club before his departure.

Gueye was a part of the Senegal squad that recorded a famous 3-1 win over England in a friendly on Tuesday night, although he was an unused substitute for the contest.

According to Afrik Foot, Man United have been scouting Gueye in recent weeks, while Liverpool are also believed to have sent representatives to watch the attacker in action.

The report claims that Metz will battle hard to keep hold of Gueye, but the French club understand that it will be difficult to keep hold of him due to the growing interest in his services.

As well as interest from the Premier League, Borussia Dortmund are said to be keen, with Gueye potentially been given the chance to make a lucrative move during this summer's transfer window.

Man United continue to search for the best young talent in world football, with new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe determined to build a team for the future.

Chido Obi, Ayden Heaven and Sekou Kone are among the youngsters to have recently made the move to Old Trafford, and all three have already shown their potential with impressive performances.

Man United 'continue to chase' Gyokeres

Even if Man United move for Gueye, it would be a huge ask to expect him to lead the line next season, with a senior player expected to arrive in that area of the field.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee may both stay this summer despite the transfer speculation, but there is set to be an attacking addition before the end of the transfer window.

Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres is seemingly the club's number one target, but the Portuguese club's chairman has recently insisted that the Sweden international will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.

Arsenal have also been credited with an interest in Gyokeres, but it does appear that the 20-time English champions are in pole position at this stage of proceedings.

Man United have also confirmed the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Brazilian's switch to Old Trafford being officially completed on Thursday.
