Tottenham transfer news: Ex-Spurs player, 36, 'set for shock move' to Barcelona

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven attacker Ivan Perisic this summer.

The Catalan club enjoyed a marvellous first campaign under the tutelage of head coach Hansi Flick, winning La Liga and Copa del Rey during 2024-25.

Following the era of Lionel Messi at Camp Nou, new stars of the Barca scene are beginning to write their own history, including Lamine Yamal.

Despite their success this season, Barcelona are not joining the likes of Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid at the Club World Cup.

Barca will be back in competitive action at the end of the summer, looking to secure back-to-back Spanish crowns under Flick.

Barcelona to make shock Perisic move?

According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are planning a shock swoop for an attacker during the summer transfer window.

The report claims that the Spanish giants are eyeing up a move for the services of Perisic ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

It is understood that Barca boss Flick and sporting director Deco have been left impressed by the winger's 2024-25 PSV term.

With his deal at the Eredivisie champions expiring at the end of this month, Perisic would be able to seal a free transfer to Camp Nou.

There could be a reunion for the Croatian and Flick, who worked together at Bundesliga powerhouses Bayern Munich in 2019-20.

Perisic's Dutch delight

Spending the first half of 2024 back in his homeland at Hajduk Split, it appeared as if Perisic was coming towards the end of his career at the top level.

However, a September switch to PSV flipped the script, with the 36-year-old playing a pivotal part in the Eredivisie title race.

Perisic featured in 27 top-flight matches for the Dutch champions last season, scoring nine goals and providing eight assists.
