Manchester United have completed the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, with the Cameroon international joining the Red Devils in a deal worth £71m.
The 20-time English champions have been heavily linked with Mbeumo since the opening of the summer transfer window, with the forward being viewed as a leading target for Ruben Amorim's side.
Newcastle United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were also linked with Mbeumo, but the player immediately made it known that he only wanted to join Man United.
The Red Devils failed with their first two offers for Mbeumo, but the third, worth £71m, was accepted.
Man United have now confirmed the signing of the 25-year-old on a contract until June 2030, but there is also the option to extend his deal for a further 12 months to take him until June 2031.
The Red Devils will pay an initial £65m for Mbeumo, with a further £6m in guaranteed add-ons.
Man United sign Mbeumo in a £71m transfer
"Manchester United is pleased to confirm that Bryan Mbeumo has joined the club, subject to registration. The Cameroon international has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option to extend for a further year," read a statement on the club's official website.
Mbeumo completed his medical with Man United on Sunday, and he is now set to travel with the first-team squad to the United States for their pre-season tour.
“As soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up," Mbeumo told Man United's official website.
“My mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.
“Everybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.”
Mbeumo makes the move to 'the club of his dreams'
Meanwhile, Man United's director of football Jason Wilcox said: "Bryan’s goals and assists record in the Premier League is exceptional, his remarkable consistency has put him amongst the most productive players in England for the last three seasons.
“Bryan’s belief in our project and determination to join the club confirmed that he was the perfect fit for Manchester United and the culture that we are developing.
“We are delighted to have secured another one of our primary targets ahead of the pre-season tour. The experience in the US will be the perfect opportunity for Bryan to work with Ruben and his new team-mates as we prepare for an exciting season ahead.”
Mbeumo, who scored 20 Premier League goals for Brentford last season, is set to travel with the Man United squad on Tuesday to the United States, with the team preparing to take part in the Premier League Summer Series.
Amorim's side will tackle West Ham United in their opening match of the tour on July 26, and that match could bring a first appearance in a Man United shirt for the Cameroon international.
The Red Devils will also take on Bournemouth and Everton in the United States before returning to England for their final friendly of the summer against Fiorentina on August 9.
