Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours today, as Victor Osimhen's future is decided and Sporting Lisbon close in on a Viktor Gyokeres replacement.

The Victor Osimhen transfer saga finally appears to be nearing its end, as Galatasaray have reportedly reached a full agreement to sign the Nigeria international from Napoli.

Osimhen starred on loan for the Turkish giants in the 2024-25 season, registering an exceptional 37 goals in 41 games after being frozen out of the Napoli squad.

The 26-year-old was expected to earn his big-money Premier League or La Liga move this summer, but there has been no serious interest from either England or Spain in the former Lille man.

As a result, Osimhen has given the green light to a permanent move to Galatasaray, and Fabrizio Romano reports that a verbal agreement has been reached between the two clubs.

The Super Lig champions will reportedly pay an upfront fee of €40m (£34.7m) and an additional €35m (£30.4m) next year to sign Osimhen, who previously rejected the chance to move to the Saudi Pro League.

As part of the deal, Galatasaray supposedly cannot sell Osimhen to another Italian club for two years, and Napoli will also retain a 10% sell-on clause.

Sporting Lisbon 'accelerate' talks to replace Arsenal-bound Viktor Gyokeres

Speaking of goalscoring Victors - or Viktors - on the move, Sporting Lisbon have apparently ramped up talks to sign a prospective Viktor Gyokeres replacement.

The Sweden international's long-awaited move to Arsenal is expected to go through in the coming days; only a disagreement over an add-ons structure is holding up a deal.

There is still confidence from both camps that a move will happen in due course, and Arsenal may have now been handed a boost in their efforts to get the transfer over the line.

A separate update from Romano claims that Sporting have accelerated negotiations with Almeria to sign Luis Suarez, who will fill Gyokeres's boots at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

The journalist claims that the two clubs are 'close' to a transfer agreement for the 27-year-old, who netted a league-high 27 goals in the 2024-25 Segunda Division campaign.

Suarez has also represented Granada, Real Zaragoza and Marseille during his career, and he has won five caps for the Colombia national team.

Leeds' transfer 'plan' for £50m Rodrigo Muniz deal involves Emile Heskey relative

Sticking with the attacking theme, Premier League returnees Leeds United supposedly plan to raise funds for Fulham's Rodrigo Muniz by sparking a bidding war for Mateo Joseph.

The Whites are understood to be targeting Muniz as their chief striker target for the summer window, and the Brazilian is open to swapping Craven Cottage for Elland Road.

However, The Sun claims that Fulham are demanding a £50m package for Muniz, and Leeds must offload at least one player to raise funds for the South American striker.

The Whites could bolster their warchest through the sale of Joseph, who only managed a paltry three goals in 39 Championship appearances last season, in addition to four assists.

Celta Vigo are apparently at the head of the queue for the £10m-rated 21-year-old, but fellow La Liga side Real Betis have been put off by Leeds' demands.

Joseph boasts eight goals from 13 appearances for the Under-21 Spain side, and the youngster is the nephew of former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey.

Lucas Vazquez in 'contact' with Turkish giants after Real Madrid exit

Joseph's fellow Spaniard Lucas Vazquez is on the move too, and the former Real Madrid right-back has apparently held initial talks over a move to Besiktas on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old is officially unattached after calling time on a glittering career with Real Madrid, with whom he won a staggering 23 major honours, including five Champions League titles.

Vazquez is still enjoying his holidays after ending his stint with Los Blancos at the Club World Cup, although he only made two appearances for Xabi Alonso's side en route to a semi-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain.

As he ponders his next career move, Fichajes claims that Besiktas have been in touch with Vazquez's camp, and president Serdar Adali is leading the charm offensive.

The Spain international is understood to be considering moving to Turkey with his family, but finding a 'competitive project' is of paramount importance to him.

Besiktas were initially set to sign former Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton right-back Kyle Walker-Peters, only to withdraw their offer after the Englishman delayed his decision, and he has since joined West Ham United.
