Atalanta BC are reportedly interested in re-signing Rasmus Hojlund from Manchester United this summer, while Lazio are also said to be keen on a deal for the Denmark international.
Hojlund's future is currently the subject of much speculation, as Man United are expected to bring a new starting striker to the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Both Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggled to make their mark last term, although the latter, despite some speculation, is set to remain with the 20-time English champions for at least another season.
The future of Hojlund is far from secure, though, with Man United said to be willing to sell him for the right price, and there is believed to be significant interest in his signature from Serie A.
Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Napoli and Roma have all been linked with the striker, but according to Foot Mercato, Atalanta and Lazio are also in the picture when it comes to a deal for the 22-year-old.
Atalanta, Lazio 'keen' on Man United's Hojlund
Hojlund represented Atalanta during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 10 times in 34 appearances for the Italian club, which led to him making the move to Man United in the summer of 2023.
The striker had an impressive first season at Old Trafford, netting 16 times in 43 appearances in all competitions, but he struggled to make his mark during a difficult 2024-25 campaign.
Indeed, last term, Hojlund scored just four times in the Premier League, with his best performances coming in the Europa League, finding the back of the net on six occasions in the competition.
Hojlund played the second half of Man United's opening pre-season friendly against Leeds United on Saturday, and he is with the Red Devils squad in the United States, with the team landing on Tuesday.
Hojlund's future is difficult to call at this stage
Man United are looking to sign a new centre-forward, but it is a very difficult market, and it might be that the club have to settle on a stop-gap rather than a superstar name.
Zirkzee is best in the number 10 spot, while Chido Obi is only 17, so it is important not to put too much pressure on the ex-Arsenal youngster at this stage of his career.
As a result, it is not impossible to imagine Hojlund staying, especially if he enjoys some strong performances in pre-season, with Man United next in action against West Ham United this weekend.
That said, suitable offers for Hojlund would be seriously considered, and there is seemingly strong interest from Serie A, so there are no guarantees when it comes to the Dane.
