Arne Slot could hand Florian Wirtz his Liverpool debut when they face AC Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday.
Wirtz was not part of the Liverpool side that beat Preston North End 3-1 at Deepdale earlier this month, as he was afforded additional time off after representing Germany in the UEFA Nations League at the start of June.
The £116m man has travelled with the squad to the Far East though, and is now in line for a debut, but it could be too soon for Hugo Ekitike to feature, as he only signed for the club on Wednesday evening.
Full-back duo Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez were handed their first appearances for the club in the win at Preston, as did goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, in the absence of Alisson.
The Brazilian keeper, along with Virgil van Dijk, Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz, did not feature against Preston, but they are all set to get some minutes under their belts during this trip to the Far East, with the new season rapidly approaching.
Harvey Elliott will need additional time to get up to full speed, after he was afforded additional leave after being the star of the show in England’s success at the Euro Under-21 Championships this summer.
Slot handed starts to numerous young players at Deepdale, and some of them will get more minutes here, with heavy rotation expected during the match, in what is just their second friendly of preseason.
Liverpool possible starting lineup:
Mamardashvili; Frimpong, Konate, Gomez, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Endo, Jones; Salah, Nunez, Ngumoha
