Liverpool have reportedly informed Barcelona that Luis Diaz is not for sale this summer.
The Reds are currently working to refresh their squad, having already recruited Jeremie Frimpong from German club Bayer Leverkusen.
Liverpool are close to signing another Leverkusen star in Florian Wirtz, while they are looking to strengthen the left side of their defence with the addition of Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
Goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili is also set to officially join the club in a transfer agreed with Valencia last summer.
With players joining the club, Liverpool are likely to offload players who are no longer seen as a key part of Arne Slot’s plans.
Liverpool set out Diaz transfer stance
Diaz is among those who have been linked with a potential move away from Anfield, amid reported interest from La Liga champions Barcelona.
According to BBC Sport, the Catalan giants have made an approach to speak to the Colombia international about a summer transfer.
The report claims that the Reds have rejected the approach, informing Barcelona that they have no plans to sell the 28-year-old.
Liverpool are keen to retain the forward’s services despite knowing that his transfer value could decrease in the next couple of years if they are unable to agree a new contract, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2027.
Diaz's importance to Liverpool
Diaz demonstrated his importance to Liverpool in the 2024-25 campaign, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists in 36 Premier League appearances to help Liverpool lift their 20th top-flight title.
The Colombian also offers Liverpool great versatility in the final third due to his ability to play anywhere across the frontline.
The Reds may also be reluctant to part ways with Diaz because there are already likely to be attacking departures this summer.
Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa could both leave ahead of the 2025-26 season, while Diogo Jota has also been linked with a move away from Anfield.
