Liverpool have reportedly made contact over a potential move to sign Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for Kerkez for some time, having been impressed with his performances for Andoni Iraola's side.
Kerkez was a regular fixture throughout the 2024-25 campaign, starting all 38 of Bournemouth's Premier League matches, chipping in with two goals and six assists.
The Hungary international ultimately played a key role in Bournemouth's ninth-placed finish, as the Cherries set a new club record for the most points in a single Premier League season.
However, they are now bracing themselves for Kerkez's departure despite the fact that he is under contract until the summer of 2021.
Liverpool initiate contact for Kerkez swoop
According to Sky Sports News, Liverpool are now stepping their efforts to add the 21-year-old to Arne Slot's squad this summer.
The update claims that the Premier League champions have now made contact with Bournemouth over a transfer for Kerkez.
Liverpool are exploring the conditions of a potential move and are yet to submit an official offer for the left-back.
Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, with Kerkez keen to join the Merseyside club ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Liverpool are looking to recruit Kerkez as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who is at risk of losing his starting spot to the Bournemouth defender.
Bournemouth line up Kerkez replacement
While Bournemouth will try to maximise the fee for Kerkez, they will be keen for any transfer negotiations to be completed quickly, having already lined up his replacement.
Bournemouth have reached a verbal agreement to sign full-back Adrien Truffert from Ligue 1 side Rennes.
The agreed deal is worth an initial £10.1m, although that figure could rise to £14.3m depending on certain add-ons.
However, Bournemouth will not officially complete Truffert's signing until they have finalised Kerkez's transfer to Liverpool.
