Bournemouth have reportedly reached a verbal agreement with Rennes to sign left-back Adrien Truffert.
The 23-year-old has been identified as a replacement for Milos Kerkez, who has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Sky Sports News claims that Bournemouth have agreed a deal worth £10.1m, which could rise to £14.3m with add-ons.
The expectation is that Truffert will undergo a medical in the next few days, but the Frenchman will only join Bournemouth if Kerkez completes a move to Liverpool.
Andoni Iraola’s side are leading the race for Truffert, who had been the subject of interest from a number of other teams in the Premier League and across Europe.
Truffert has spent his entire career at Rennes and has made a total of 191 appearances, including 33 Ligue 1 outings for a side who finished 12th in the table last season and failed to qualify for European competition.
Al-Nassr set their sights on Champions League winner Ruiz?
Staying in France and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz is reportedly attracting interest from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Nassr.
Fichajes claims that the Spain international has emerged as a top target for Al-Nassr, who are keen to bolster their squad with an experienced and technically-gifted midfielder.
Although Al-Nassr are yet to submit a formal offer, the club’s management believe that the signing of Ruiz would elevate the team's competitive level and would enhance their chances of winning the Saudi Pro League title, something they have yet to achieve since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.
PSG, meanwhile, are said to have no plans to part ways with Ruiz, who has two years remaining on his contract at Parc des Princes and is valued at around €40m.
The 29-year-old is considered an essential first-team member of Luis Enrique’s squad and was a key cog in the PSG machine that won their first-ever Champions League trophy last season as part of a historic treble.
Since joining PSG from Napoli in 2022, Ruiz has made a total of 126 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists in 54 games last season.
Turner set to swap Forest for Lyon
Meanwhile, Lyon are reportedly closing in on the signing of Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Matt Turner.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the Ligue 1 side have verbally agreed a deal with their Premier League counterparts to sign the USA international for €8m (£6.8m).
Turner spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at FA Cup winners Crystal Palace where he acted as backup to Dean Henderson and made only four first-team appearances in all tournaments.
The 30-year-old has since returned to Nottingham Forest, but an exit from the City Ground is on the cards as both Matz Sels and Carlos Miguel are in front of him in the goalkeeping pecking order.
Romano adds that the arrival of Turner at Lyon could result in Lucas Perri departing the club in the ‘next days/weeks’ with Newcastle United and Roma believed to be among the clubs interested in his services.
