Transfer roundup: Joao Pedro to Newcastle United, Kostoulas to Brighton & Hove Albion

Newcastle United have reportedly learned of the asking price for Brighton & Hove Albion star Joao Pedro.

The Brazilian enjoyed a productive term in the Premier League during 2024-25, netting 10 goals and providing six assists across 27 matches.

Brighton secured a mid-table finish during their first term under the tutelage of Fabian Hurzeler, failing to qualify for the European stage.

On the other hand, Newcastle secured a return to the Champions League, with big nights under the lights on the horizon in the North-East.

According to Football Insider, Brighton have laid out their transfer strategy regarding Pedro ahead of the summer transfer window in the coming weeks.

The report claims that the Seagulls will accept offers between £50m and £60m for the 23-year-old ahead of the 2025-26 season.

It is understood that the South-coast club are keen to double their money on the player after signing Pedro from Watford in 2023 for £30m.

Newcastle were said to be targeting a move for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo, who is now heading towards a Manchester United switch.

Kostoulas set for Brighton medical?

With Pedro expected to move on during the summer trading point, Brighton are wasting no time in their pursuit of an adequate replacement.

After tasting Europa League football in recent years, the Seagulls are looking to return to the continental stage during the 2026-27 term.

As per Sky Sports News, Brighton are moving towards the high-profile arrival of a potential Pedro replacement before the end of the week.

It is believed that the South-coast club are honing in on the signing of Charalampos Kostoulas, who currently plays for Olympiacos.

Brighton have allegedly seen a £34m bid for the 18-year-old accepted, with the transfer to be confirmed in the coming days.

Charalampos will supposedly travel to England this week ahead of a medical at the Premier League outfit on Wednesday afternoon.

Dutch youngster completes Villa medical?

Another player who could be swapping the continent for the riches of the Premier League, Zepiqueno Redmond is closing in on a move to Aston Villa, according to Sky Sports News.

The 18-year-old has made four first-team appearances for Feyenoord in the Eredivisie during 2024-25, with two of those features coming from the start of matches.

Redmond possesses relative international pedigree, having featured for the Under-19s of the Netherlands on eight occasions, scoring two goals.

It is understood that the youngster has agreed to a four-year deal in the Second City, contracting him to the Villans until the summer of 2029.
