Leicester City and Crystal Palace are reportedly among a group of European sides monitoring the progress of FC Midtjylland forward Franculino.

Leicester City and Crystal Palace are reportedly interested in FC Midtjylland striker Franculino ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has made a steady start to the Danish Superliga campaign, scoring five goals and providing two assists across 14 top-flight appearances.

Franculino has also enjoyed a positive run of form on the continental stage for the Wolves, finding the net on four occasions across the Champions League and Europa League.

Since making the switch from the youth side of Benfica during the summer of 2023, the attacker has featured 58 times for Midtjylland, bagging 27 goals.

There has also been relative international recognition for young striker Franculino, who boasts 11 caps for Guinea-Bissau following his senior debut in 2023.

Leicester, Crystal Palace scouting Midtjylland prospect Franculino?

According to Danish outlet Bold, two Premier League clubs are interested in securing the services of Midtjylland youngster Franculino in the near future.

The report claims that both relegation-threatened Leicester and mid-table dwellers Crystal Palace are monitoring the progression of the 20-year-old.

Ruud van Nistelrooy's men are allegedly most keen at this stage, with the Foxes organising several trips to Denmark in order to scout the player.

It is believed that Leicester scouts were in attendance at the Wolves' MCH Arena base on Sunday evening, when Franculino played 45 minutes of his side's 1-0 victory over strugglers Lyngby.

As well as the aforementioned Premier League duo, Turkish giants Besiktas are also supposedly in the hunt for the services of the attacker.

Premier League or Championship quality?

Losing back-to-back top-flight matches recently, Leicester are occupying 19th spot in the Premier League standings, two points behind safety.

As a result, the Foxes' transfer team will have one eye on recruitment for a potential Championship promotion push next season, when Franculino will turn 21.

Scoring on a consistent basis in the Europa League and Champions League qualifying, the Guinea-Bissau star has the potential to set the second tier alight for Leicester.
