Slayers of Juventus just before the international break, the home side came out of two tough opening fixtures with three points, while their Venetian counterparts remain goalless and pointless at the foot of the table.
We say: Empoli 3-1 Venezia
Not only did they capitalise on the chaos at Juventus last time out, but Empoli also demonstrated they may have the tools to threaten both mid-ranking sides and survival rivals on a regular basis.
Venezia may have to wait until next week's return to the iconic Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo for their first points of the campaign, but should at least notch a first top-flight goal since their demotion and subsequent implosion back in 2002.

Napoli vs. Juventus (Saturday, 5.00pm)

Bitter rivals from either side of Calcio's North-South divide, Napoli and their old foes Juventus clash on Saturday evening, as Serie A resumes.
The Bianconeri arrive at Stadio Maradona after a chastening defeat to promoted Empoli just before the international break - getting the post-Ronaldo era off to a losing start - while their hosts secured maximum points from their first two fixtures.
We say: Napoli 1-1 Juventus
There are many other places Juventus would rather venture in pursuit of a belated first win of the season, and they may well be denied that first three-point haul again by an experienced Napoli side.
The hosts are sure to be fired up to stop the Bianconeri at all costs this weekend - and have looked the more cohesive prospect so far this term in any case - so will take at least one point from a hard-fought 90 minutes.

Atalanta vs. Fiorentina (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Between a frenetic international period and their return to the Champions League, Atalanta BC resume Serie A action on Saturday, as they host Fiorentina at the Gewiss Stadium.
While the Bergamaschi have picked up four points from their first two games of the domestic campaign, their visitors bounced back from an opening day loss to secure a welcome victory last time out.
We say: Atalanta BC 2-1 Fiorentina
Even if their attacking options have been reduced by injury, Atalanta should have enough residual firepower to take down Fiorentina on Saturday, as they are capable of taking numerous routes to goal - particularly down the flanks.
The visitors look to have a stronger squad than last season's on paper, but it may take a few weeks for Vincenzo Italiano to settle everyone into his style of play, and they are likely to be undone at least once at the back.
