Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Croatia could line up for Wednesday's World Cup 2022 Group F clash with Morocco.

Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic is unlikely to make any surprising calls with his side for Wednesday's World Cup opener against Morocco.

The 2018 runners-up have recently discovered some form, prevailing in four UEFA Nations League fixtures in succession to top a group which featured France, Denmark and Austria.

With each of the side that defeated Austria on away territory last time out featuring in the squad, there is scope for the same starting lineup being named.

However, forward Ante Budimir appears likely to drop out of the attack with Bruno Petkovic or Andrej Kramaric taking his place.

The other debatable call could come at right-back, but there is every indication that Josip Stanisic will get the nod over Josip Juranovic.

With Josko Gvardiol expected to feature in the centre of defence, Borna Barisic is likely to be selected ahead of Borna Sosa at left-back.

Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic will play in central midfield alongside Marcelo Brozovic, while Nikola Vlasic stands to make an appearance on the right flank with Ivan Perisic on the left.

Croatia possible starting lineup: Livakovic; Stanisic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Barisic; Modric, Brozovic, Kovacic; Vlasic, Petkovic, Perisic
