Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly held talks over a potential move to sign Marseille midfielder Azzedine Ounahi this summer.
Ounahi spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Greek giants Panathinaikos after being deemed surplus to requirements at Marseille.
The Morocco international made 37 competitive appearances during his loan spell, contributing to Panathinaikos' attacking efforts with five goals and seven assists.
However, Panathinaikos could not afford the €11.5m (£9.7m) buy option in Ounahi's loan agreement, leaving him free to return to his parent club.
According to Foot Mercato, Brighton are now working on a potential deal to add Ounahi to Fabian Hurzeler's midfield options ahead of the 2025-26 season.
The report claims that the Seagulls are long-term admirers and in talks with the 25-year-old over a move to the Amex Stadium.
There is a belief that an outline of an agreement is already in place with Ounahi, who is said to be excited by the prospect of playing in the Premier League for the first time in his career.
Al-Hilal eye Onana move
Elsewhere, Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Amadou Onana.
Al-Hilal are beginning a new era after appointing Simone Inzaghi as their new head coach following his Inter Milan exit.
Inzaghi will want to assemble a squad that can compete at the Club World Cup and for silverware in the 2025-26 campaign.
According to journalist Pieter-Jan Calcoen, Al-Hilal are considering Onana as one of their potential targets for the summer transfer window.
The update claims it will become clear in the coming days and weeks about whether Al-Hilal have a realistic chance of signing the Belgium international.
Onana has a long-term contract with Aston Villa until June 2029 after only joining the club from Everton last summer.
Brentford targeting Kuhn swoop
Meanwhile, Brentford have reportedly identified Celtic's Nicolas Kuhn as a potential replacement for Bryan Mbeumo.
The Bees recently rejected Man United's £55m bid for Mbeumo, but they are set to receive an improved offer from the Red Devils.
As a result, Brentford are bracing themselves for the potential departure of a key player who scored 20 goals and provided nine assists in 38 Premier League matches last term.
While Mbeumo will be a tough act to follow, the Bees are scouring the market for viable candidates to replace the Cameroon international.
According to TEAMtalk, Thomas Frank's side are considering Kuhn as a potential target to strengthen their attacking options ahead of next season.
Scottish champions Celtic should be in a strong position in any negotiations, with the 25-year-old under contract until the summer of 2025.
Kuhn showcased his attacking talent in the 2024-25 season, scoring 21 goals and providing 15 assists in 51 competitive matches for Brendan Rodgers's side.
