Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Sporting Lisbon.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta should not shy away from making a few changes for Thursday's Europa League last-16 second leg against Sporting Lisbon.

A wealth of players missed the 2-2 draw at Estadio Jose Alvalade last week, but Gabriel Jesus has since made his long-awaited return from knee surgery, while Leandro Trossard is also back from a groin issue.

The latter made history with three first-half assists against Fulham at the weekend, and he could hold the fort in the number nine spot as Jesus continues to build up his match fitness gradually, while Eddie Nketiah may be out with an ankle problem until after the World Cup break.

Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe should also be considered for starts at the Emirates, and the same goes for Fabio Vieira, who was hailed as the team's most dangerous player by Arteta in the first leg.

Martin Odegaard, who missed the first leg due to illness, could therefore be handed a reprieve, while Jorginho is also in line for a recall - potentially over Granit Xhaka as Thomas Partey adds some steel to the engine room.

Kieran Tierney was also absent last week due to a virus, but he could now come in for Oleksandr Zinchenko, while Takehiro Tomiyasu will also hope to be considered for selection over Ben White.

Following a mix-up with Matt Turner in the first leg, Jakub Kiwior was not even in the squad for the win over Fulham, so Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba may continue to pair up in front of Turner.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Turner; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Tierney; Jorginho, Partey, Vieira; Nelson, Trossard, Smith Rowe
