Barcelona are reportedly considering making a spectacular move for Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo this summer.
The Catalan outfit are on the verge of confirming the signing of Marcus Rashford from Manchester United, with the England international set to move to Camp Nou on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.
Barcelona will allegedly have the chance to sign Rashford for €30m (£26m) next summer, but a final decision is unlikely to be made until the early stages of 2026.
Raphinha and Lamine Yamal are Barcelona's first-choice wingers, but there have been suggestions that the former could be moved into the number 10 spot next season.
Robert Lewandowski will again lead the line in 2025-26, but the Poland international is entering the latter stages of his time at Barcelona, so it would not be a shock to see another attacker arrive.
According to UOL, Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Rodrygo's situation at Real Madrid, with the La Liga champions considering making a move for the Brazilian before the end of the transfer window.
Barcelona 'considering summer move' for Rodrygo
The report claims that Barcelona have contacted intermediaries to register their interest in Rodrygo, with the Catalan outfit making it clear that they would be keen to sign him this summer if the opportunity arrived.
Real Madrid are said to be willing to let Rodrygo leave for the right price this summer, and both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be attentive to the situation.
Manchester United have also been credited with an interest, although it is difficult to imagine the Red Devils signing him without Champions League for the 2025-26 campaign.
Rodrygo only played 92 minutes of football for Real Madrid at the 2025 World Cup, with new head coach Xabi Alonso preferring other options in the final third of the field.
Could Barcelona really sign Rodrygo this summer?
In football, very little is impossible, but it is very, very difficult to imagine this deal going through.
Real Madrid might be willing to sell, but whether they are prepared to let him join their biggest rivals is another matter entirely, especially considering how strong Barcelona were last term.
Rodrygo has represented Los Blancos on 270 occasions in all competitions, scoring 68 goals and registering 51 assists, proving himself to be a vital player for the capital giants during their recent successes.
For that reason, Real Madrid can hold out for a high price, potentially as much as €92m (£80m), which Barcelona simply cannot afford this summer unless they make a major sale of their own.
