Manchester United and Newcastle United have reportedly identified Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani as a top transfer target.
Kolo Muani is back at Parc des Princes after spending the second half of last season on loan at Juventus.
The 26-year-old largely impressed during his time in Turin, netting 10 goals and providing three assists in 22 matches across all competitions.
Juventus are keen to re-sign Kolo Muani for the 2025-26 season, but they are yet to reach an agreement with Champions League winners PSG.
Man United, Newcastle eyeing Kolo Muani swoop
Kolo Muani has indicated he would be open to returning to Juventus this summer, although he may have to consider other options if a move fails to materialise.
As a result, the door appears to be opening for two of Kolo Muani's Premier League suitors to pounce before the transfer window shuts on September 1.
According to Foot Mercato, Man United and Newcastle have earmarked Kolo Muani as a 'priority target' to strengthen their respective forward options.
The two Premier League clubs will be aware that the striker does not feature as part of Luis Enrique's plans, despite having three years left to run on his PSG contract.
Man United have the allure of being the 20-time English champions, while Newcastle can offer Kolo Muani the chance to continue playing Champions League football.
Why are Man United, Newcastle targeting a new striker?
Man United have been working to bolster their attacking options following a disappointing 2024-25 campaign.
They have already recruited Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and appear to be on the verge of signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
However, they are still keen to sign a natural number nine following Rasmus Hojlund's struggles at Old Trafford.
The Dane has mustered 14 goals in 62 Premier League appearances since he arrived from Atalanta in 2023, including just four strikes in 32 top-flight matches last term.
As for Newcastle, they are working hard to ward off interest in their star striker Alexander Isak, who has been linked with Liverpool and the Saudi Pro League.
Even if they keep Isak at St James' Park, the Magpies will still be keen to recruit a new forward to replace Callum Wilson as their backup number nine.
With that said, it is difficult to see Kolo Muani accepting a squad role, especially as he will be keen to cement his place in the France squad for next year's World Cup.
