Portsmouth supporters went into the 2024-25 Championship campaign with low expectations after their promotion, but alarm bells were ringing when they failed to win a single game before matchday 10.

However, Pompey stuck by head coach John Mousinho and were rewarded for their faith when he guided the team to safety, securing another season in the division with a 16th-placed finish.

Portsmouth will be looking to build upon their work from last season by assembling a squad that can compete towards the top half of the Championship table.

Pompey have seen a number of players leave this summer, with academy product Matt Ritchie on the brink of becoming the latest departure, just one year after returning to his hometown club.

In regard to new arrivals, the south coast side have recruited Portsmouth-born John Swift on a free transfer and highly-rated Adrian Segecic from Sydney FC for an undisclosed fee.

Mousinho will want to see a few more faces through the door before his team kick off the new season with an away game against Oxford United on August 9.
