Attacking incomings and outgoings are the talk of the Toon for Newcastle United at present, as following the £55m capture of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest, developments surrounding Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Yoane Wissa have sent tongues wagging.
The Magpies' stance for months has been that Isak is not for sale and no amount of money - at least an amount that Premier League clubs can realistically pay - will convince them to part ways with the Sweden international this summer.
However, reports emerged earlier this week claiming that Liverpool had made an approach for the former Real Sociedad marksman, whom the Reds would be willing to make their most expensive arrival of all time over £100m playmaker Florian Wirtz.
At the same time, Newcastle were supposedly exploring a deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt's Ekitike, but Liverpool had also registered their interest in the erstwhile Paris Saint-Germain striker in case they were given the cold shoulder in Isak talks.
Now, Liverpool are thought to be advancing in discussions for Ekitike, while Newcastle have earmarked Brentford's Wissa as a viable alternative to the Frenchman, but their chances of keeping hold of Isak appear to be growing.
