Aston Villa forward Marcus Rashford - on loan from Manchester United - allegedly remains a target for Paris Saint-Germain, the club's Champions League quarter-final opponents.

Aston Villa may reportedly face more than one battle on their hands with Paris Saint-Germain across the coming months.

The Premier League outfit are currently preparing to square off with the Ligue 1 leaders in the Champions League quarter-finals, the first leg taking place at Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

PSG are the clear favourites to prevail in France and across the two legs having already defeated Liverpool in the last 16 and won as many as 16 of their most recent 17 matches in all competitions.

Nevertheless, Villa have won seven successive matches themselves, helped by the performances of Marcus Rashford who was signed on loan from Manchester United in the winter transfer window.

PSG remain keen on Rashford?

As well as netting three times in as many games, Rashford also has four assists from 12 appearances in total, Unai Emery getting the best out of the England international after he dropped down the pecking order under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

However, according to L'Equipe, Rashford will take to the pitch at Parc des Princes on Wednesday in the knowledge that Villa's opponents still want to sign him.

The report claims that PSG are yet to drop their long-standing interest in Rashford and his representatives have recently held discussions over his availability.

As per widespread reports, Villa have a £40m option to acquire Rashford's services on a permanent deal at the end of the season should they so wish.

That said, it is claimed that PSG may be prepared to follow up their admiration of the 27-year-old later in the year if Villa do not take advantage of that clause.

PSG a happy hunting ground for Rashford

In the colours of Man United, Rashford has played at Parc des Princes on two occasions, scoring both times and helping the Red Devils to victories in the Champions League.

Furthermore, he is on a three-match scoring streak against PSG, highlighting why president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has previously gone public about his admiration for the player.

If Rashford scores again on Wednesday, it is realistic to expect the PSG chief to order a sustained effort to tempt the player to the French capital.
