In-demand midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will sign a new long-term contract with Lazio before the end of the month, according to a report.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will reportedly sign a new long-term contract with Lazio before the end of the month.

Milinkovic-Savic scored 14 times and provided nine assists during an impressive 2017-18 campaign with Lazio, and a number of clubs - including Manchester United and Real Madrid - have been linked with his services.

Last month, Lazio president Claudio Lotito said that the midfielder "is the best young player" in the world at the moment and suggested that he would not be sold for less than £100m.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, having managed to keep hold of Milinkovic-Savic during the summer transfer window, Lazio are now confident of signing the Serbian to a new long-term deal before the end of September.

The powerful midfielder was in action for his country at the 2018 World Cup.
