A report claims that Blackburn Rovers have approached Manchester United for permission to speak to Under-21 boss Warren Joyce about the managerial position at Ewood Park.

Blackburn Rovers have reportedly approached Manchester United for permission to speak to Under-21 manager Warren Joyce about the managerial position at Ewood Park.

Joyce's future at Man United has been thrown into doubt with the news that Louis van Gaal is on the verge of being sacked as head coach of the Red Devils.

According to Sky Sports News, Championship side Blackburn are keen to talk to Joyce about taking charge of the Blackburn first team on a full-time basis.

Blackburn have been without a manager since Paul Lambert left the position late last month.
