Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admits that his side "need to start games better" if they are to be successful.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has admitted that his side "need to start games better", having again conceded the first goal against West Ham United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

The Red Devils came from behind to beat the Hammers 2-1 in the Premier League last weekend, but they lost 1-0 to the same opposition in the League Cup at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer has conceded that he was disappointed with Man United's start on Wednesday, and the Norwegian is determined to help his side come out of the blocks quicker moving forward.

"The first 10 minutes we were slow, pedestrian both in possession and out of possession," Solskjaer told reporters. "That is something we have to address and we do address.

"I wasn't very pleased with the start at all, no. The response was great again but we can't find ourselves in these situations and expect to get the wins that we have done, fantastically in the last year and a half. We need to start games better."

Man United will be looking to record their fourth Premier League victory in a row when they welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
