A look at the games Paul Pogba could miss through injury, including Chelsea, Arsenal clashes

Sports Mole looks at the matches that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba could miss with a thigh injury.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is facing a period on the sidelines with the thigh problem that he picked up during a training session with France earlier this week.

The Red Devils are yet to issue an official update on the 28-year-old, but a recent report claimed that the World Cup winner is expected to be on the sidelines for the next eight weeks.

Pogba immediately withdrew from the France squad for their November internationals, but he would not have been available for Man United against Watford next weekend regardless of his injury situation, as the midfielder will serve the third of a three-match Premier League suspension.

The Frenchman had been in line to feature against Villarreal in the Champions League on November 23, but he is now likely to be out for the remainder of the year.

There have even been suggestions that Pogba could have played his last game for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, as the club are considering freezing him out, with his contract expiring next June.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at the games that Pogba could miss through injury.

If Pogba is out for eight weeks then he would miss the final two Champions League group games against Villarreal and Young Boys, in addition to as many as 10 Premier League matches.

Indeed, a busy end to this month will see the Red Devils face Watford and Chelsea on November 20 and November 28 respectively in the Premier League, in addition to a hugely important trip to Villarreal in the Champions League on November 23.

Man United will start December with back-to-back home league fixtures against Arsenal and Crystal Palace before welcoming Young Boys for their final Champions League group game on December 8.

Solskjaer's side then have another five league matches before the end of the month, facing Norwich City, Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United and Burnley.

Eight weeks from the date of Pogba's injury - November 8 - would take him to January 3, when the 20-time English champions are due to welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford.

Pogba could potentially return for an FA Cup third-round contest in early January before featuring away to Aston Villa in the Premier League on January 15, but a lot will depend on how the midfielder's recovery progresses.
