Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick says that Paul Pogba could be in the starting team against Middlesbrough.

Manchester United interim head coach Ralf Rangnick has said that Paul Pogba could be in the starting XI against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Friday night.

The 28-year-old has not played for the Red Devils since the start of November, having suffered a thigh problem while on international duty with France.

Pogba has returned to training in recent weeks, though, and having made a full recovery, the World Cup winner will be involved in Friday's clash with Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

"Paul will be part of the group. He might even be in the starting XI," Rangnick told reporters when questioned on the midfielder's potential involvement at Old Trafford.

Pogba has provided seven assists in 13 appearances for the 20-time English champions during the 2021-22 campaign, featuring on nine occasions in the Premier League and four times in the Champions League.

The Frenchman has still not signed a new contract with Man United, meaning that, as it stands, he will leave the club on a free transfer for the second time at the end of June.
