Manchester City reportedly add Tino Livramento to their list of full-back targets as they prepare for Kyle Walker's permanent exit during the summer transfer window.

Manchester City have reportedly added Newcastle United's Tino Livramento to their list of full-back targets as they prepare for Kyle Walker's permanent exit during the summer transfer window.

Walker had been a stalwart of Pep Guardiola's successful Citizens system for seven years, but the ex-Tottenham Hotspur man experienced a dramatic decline in the first half of the 2024-25 season.

The England international is now plying his trade on loan at AC Milan, who have an option to make his stay permanent for around £4.2m, but an exit for good elsewhere is expected to materialise even if the club do not take up that option.

Since Walker jumped ship for the Rossoneri, Rico Lewis and makeshift right-back Matheus Nunes have been filling in for Guardiola, but a direct Walker successor will be high on the club's shortlist this summer.

John Stones - another alternative in the right-back role - could be among seven experienced players sold ahead of the 2025-26 season, while Manuel Akanji is facing weeks out with an abductor issue.

Man City 'showing interest' in Newcastle's Livramento

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle and England's Livramento has now emerged as a genuine option for City, who have earmarked both right-back and midfield as a key area for recruitment this summer.

The 22-year-old has established a reputation as one of the finest young full-backs in the country since joining the Magpies, who paid Southampton £30.8m for his services last summer.

Livramento initially arrived to play backup to Kieran Trippier, but he has now become Eddie Howe's first-choice right-back, starting 21 Premier League matches in the current campaign.

The former Chelsea starlet also caught the eye of ex-England interim boss Lee Carsley last year and was called up to each of the Three Lions' last three squads, making his senior debut against the Republic of Ireland in November's 5-0 UEFA Nations League win.

Livramento has scored one goal and provided one assist in 67 matches for Newcastle since 2023, but the Magpies are under little pressure to sell given that his contract runs until the summer of 2028.

What other full-backs are Man City targeting?

With Trippier on the decline - and likely on the way out of Newcastle - the EFL Cup finalists can drive an extremely hard bargain to sell Livramento, who is undoubtedly now worth more than the £30.8m he commanded almost two years ago.

Alternatively, Man City are confirmed to possess an interest in Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso, whose agent revealed that he was the subject of attention from the Citizens in the January transfer window.

The Citizens' interest in Cambiaso is said to be 'firm' as opposed to the club simply 'monitoring' Livramento, but Juve are believed to have slapped an €80m (£66.2m) price tag on the head of the Italian.

The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco's Achraf Hakimi is also on City's radar, but the ex-Real Madrid defender recently penned a new deal at the Parc des Princes until 2029.

On the opposite side, AC Milan's Theo Hernandez has apparently emerged as a prime target, although Man City are not thought to be at the head of the queue for the Frenchman.
