Manchester City could break an all-time Premier League goalscoring record if they find the net against Newcastle United at the Etihad this weekend.

Manchester City can break an all-time Premier League goalscoring record when they welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad on Saturday.

City have scored in their last 28 Premier League games against Newcastle since a 0-0 draw in November 2006 - the joint-longest goalscoring run one team has had against another in Premier League history.

Manchester United have also managed the feat against Leicester City, but their city rivals can go one better if they find the net against the Magpies this weekend.

That is highly likely too considering the current Premier League champions have scored in all of their home games this season, and have won 13 in a row at home against their upcoming opponents.

Making it 14 wins a row here will match another Premier League record, for consecutive home wins against a single opponent - Everton are the only club to have achieved this before, against Fulham.

Newcastle are on something of a downward spiral too, having picked up just three points from their last four league games, dropping out of the top four.

Defeat in the EFL Cup final at the weekend means they have now lost two in two games, as many as they had lost in their first 29 games of the season prior to that.
