Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Manchester City could line up for Saturday's Premier League clash with Crystal Palace.

Manchester City have been blessed with a clean bill of health for Saturday's Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

After scoring in the Citizens' 2-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend, Phil Foden revealed that he suffered a recurrence of a persistent foot injury, but the in-form attacker - who has since taken part in training this week - is available for selection and is hoping to keep his place on the right flank ahead of Riyad Mahrez.

Pep Guardiola's side were boosted by the return of defensive duo Aymeric Laporte and John Stones to the matchday squad last weekend following spells out with illness and a hamstring problem respectively.

Both players will be keen to build up their match fitness during a busy fixture schedule and could be involved in some capacity against Palace, while fellow centre-backs Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias are in contention to play their fifth successive match in defence.

Nathan Ake could continue at left-back should Guardiola decide to stick with a more conventional back four, while Kyle Walker will battle Rico Lewis for a place at right-back, with the former's availability pending a police investigation amid an alleged 'flashing' incident at a bar last week.

Rodri, Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne all started in centre-midfield against Newcastle, and the trio could retain their places, although Bernardo Silva – who made an instant impact off the substitutes' bench by scoring against the Magpies – will be hoping to force his way back into the first XI.

Joining one of Foden or Mahrez in attack, Jack Grealish and Erling Braut Haaland – the latter of whom scored a hat-trick in the 4-2 win over Palace at the Etihad Stadium back in August – are set to continue in the starting lineup, while Julian Alvarez is another attacker who Guardiola could call upon.

Manchester City possible starting lineup: Ederson; Lewis, Akanji, Dias, Ake; Bernardo, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden, Haaland, Grealish
