Real Madrid want to rehire Luis Campos this summer in order to boost their chances of signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.

Real Madrid are reportedly keen to rehire Luis Campos this summer in order to boost their chances of bringing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe to the club.

Mbappe has still not signed a new deal with the French giants, meaning that he now has less than 12 months to run on his contract with Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Real Madrid are thought to be at the head of the queue for the France international, but Liverpool also continue to be credited with an interest in his services.

According to Marca, Los Blancos want to bring Campos back to the Bernabeu due to his close relationship with Mbappe.

The 56-year-old was a scout at Real Madrid during the 2012-13 campaign before leaving to become Monaco's sporting director, where he worked with a young Mbappe.

Campos left Lille at the end of 2020 and is now unattached, and the Spanish giants are said to be hopeful of rehiring the Portuguese to aid their chances of signing the World Cup winner from PSG.

Mbappe has scored 132 goals and registered 61 assists in 171 appearances for his French club in all competitions, but he found it difficult to make his mark at Euro 2020.
