Liverpool have reportedly reached a 'full agreement' with Eintracht Frankfurt for striker Hugo Ekitike.
The Reds were believed to be showing an interest in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, but the Magpies' reluctance to entertain a sale has forced the Premier League champions to turn their focus to Ekitike.
Liverpool wasted little time in agreeing personal terms with the Frenchman, who has made it clear that he is keen to join Arne Slot's side.
It was reported on Saturday night that Liverpool had agreed on an outline of a deal with the Bundesliga club.
Liverpool reach agreement for Ekitike transfer
Frankfurt head coach Dino Toppmoller appeared to confirm Ekitike's imminent departure following Saturday's friendly with FSV Frankfurt.
Ekitike's move to Anfield now appears to be getting ever closer, with Florian Plettenburg reporting that the two clubs reached a 'full agreement' following fresh talks on Sunday.
The agreed deal is believed to be worth up to €95m (£82.3m), including add-ons, with a medical expected to take place in the near future.
Twenty-three-year-old Ekitike will put pen to paper on a six-year contract once the medical and the necessary paperwork are completed.
Liverpool continue Bundesliga spending spree
The Frankfurt forward is set to become the third player to join Liverpool from the Bundesliga in the summer transfer window.
Liverpool spent £29.5m to recruit Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen, before they raided the same club to complete the £116m signing of Florian Wirtz.
The Reds are now set to splash the cash to recruit Ekitike after seemingly being impressed by his performances last season.
Ekitike netted 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 matches to help Frankfurt achieve a third-placed finish and reach the Europa League quarter-finals.
The Frankfurt marksman is set to make the leap to the Premier League for the first time in his career having previously played in France, Denmark and Germany.
