Alexis Mac Allister's father has made it clear that his son has no intention of leaving Liverpool in the near future.

Alexis Mac Allister's father, Carlos Mac Allister, has insisted that his son has no plans to leave Liverpool in the near future.

Liverpool are heading towards a key transfer window, which could see a number of arrivals and outgoings following two relatively quiet markets under sporting director Richard Hughes.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is among those who are set to leave, with the Liverpool star set to join Real Madrid when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Alexis Mac Allister is another player who has previously been linked with a potential move to the Spanish giants at some point in his career.

The Argentine has also spoken of his desire to play in La Liga in the future, although it appears that such a move could be a long way off following the recent remarks from the player's father.

Mac Allister transfer stance revealed

Carlos Mac Allister has poured cold water on the notion that his son has any intention of leaving Anfield in the near future.

"For now, I don't think so. Time will tell," Carlos said in an interview with Fernando Niembro on Picado TV. "Alexis is very happy where he is.

"He lives in Manchester, and on the block where he lives is Andy Robertson, Joe Gomez, and four blocks away is Licha Martinez (Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez).

"Alexis speaks English well, understands the rules of the game, and converses with people. I think it's been the best thing he's had, and that's why the adaptation was easier."

Mac Allister's importance to Liverpool

Mac Allister has established himself as a key player in the Liverpool squad since he completed a £35m move from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023.

The 26-year-old has started all 30 of the Premier League games that he has been available for this season, scoring four goals and contributing three assists.

Mac Allister's performances have helped put Liverpool on course for the Premier League title, with Arne Slot's side boasting an 11-point lead at the top of the table.

As per FBref, Mac Allister is in the top ten in the Premier League this season for tackles won, blocks, and dribblers tackled, highlighting his strength in Liverpool's play without the ball.
