Liverpool are reportedly willing to allow one of their defenders to leave on loan for the 2025-26 campaign.

Liverpool are reportedly prepared to let Jarell Quansah leave on loan next season.

Quansah enjoyed valuable game time in Jurgen Klopp's final season in charge, making 27 starts in 34 competitive appearances in 2023-24.

However, he has seen his playing opportunities drop under Arne Slot, having had to settle for 13 starts in 25 matches across all competitions.

The 22-year-old has started two of Liverpool's last three games, including Monday's away clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

With that said, his recent starts have come as a result of Slot rotating his side following Liverpool's Premier League title triumph.

Liverpool to sanction Quansah loan move

As per Mick Brown for Football Insider, Liverpool are open to the prospect of letting Quansah leave on loan this summer.

As it stands, Quansah will not displace Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as the first-choice centre-backs, even though there is some uncertainty surrounding the future of the latter.

With that in mind, the Reds seemingly feel that a loan move could aid Quansah's development by giving him regular game time.

The England Under-21 international would not be 'short of interest' if he were to leave Liverpool on a temporary deal.

Liverpool allegedly still have faith in the 22-year-old and believe that he has a long-term future at Anfield.

Liverpool's defensive rebuild

A potential loan departure for Quansah could feature as part of Liverpool's defensive rebuild ahead of the new season.

There is a possibility that they could sign a new centre-back this summer, which would only knock Quansah further down the pecking order.

Meanwhile, they are currently on the verge of signing Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong as a replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool academy product has made the decision to leave Liverpool at the end of his contract, ahead of a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

While Frimpong will strengthen the right side of defence, the Reds are working to bolster the left-back position with the addition of Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez.

The Hungary international is seemingly viewed as a long-term successor to Andy Robertson, who could face an uncertain future if Kerkez arrives at Anfield this summer.
