Hoping to extend their quest for a first UEFA Nations League crown, Italy will try to overturn a one-goal deficit in the second leg of their quarter-final tie against Germany.

Without first-choice striker Mateo Retegui and favoured left wing-back Federico Dimarco, the Azzurri let a 1-0 lead slip at San Siro, and Arsenal star Riccardo Calafiori will also be sidelined on Sunday.

After an awkward slip in Thursday night's home game, Calafiori must make way for Napoli centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno, who should deputise on the left side of the visitors' back three.

Nicolo Barella and Sandro Tonali should continue in central midfield, leaving Davide Frattesi, Samuele Ricci and Nicolo Rovella to fight it out for one spot; due to such stiff competition, Torino's Cesare Casadei is unlikely to win his first senior cap just yet.

Needing to score at least once in Dortmund, Spalletti should pair two strikers; so, with Serie A goal-machine Retegui forced to withdraw because of a muscular issue, Moise Kean and Giacomo Raspadori are set to start up front.

Making his 72nd international appearance at the age of just 26, Paris Saint-Germain penalty hero Gianluigi Donnarumma captains La Nazionale once again.
