Hull City announce the appointment of Liam Rosenior as their new head coach on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Liam Rosenior has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to become Hull City's new head coach.

Since sacking Shota Arveladze in September, Andy Dawson has been leading the side on an interim basis, winning three of his seven matches in charge.

However, Dawson will return to being a member of the coaching staff following the announcement that Rosenior will return to the club that he made 161 appearances for as a player.

Rosenior had previously worked as a coach and then an assistant manager at Derby, before taking over the role of interim manager when Wayne Rooney left in June.

The 38-year-old departed the Rams in September following the appointment of Paul Warne as Derby manager, but he will now return to football to take charge of a Hull side that are currently one point above the relegation zone.

Rosenior was at the MKM Stadium to watch Tuesday's 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough, and the first game of his tenure will be an away meeting with Millwall on Saturday.
