Granada, Real Betis share the points in La Liga

Granada hold on to draw 1-1 against Real Betis but they remain in 18th in the La Liga table.

Granada and Real Betis take a share of the points as the two sides draw 1-1 at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes.

Granada went ahead after three minutes when former German international Heiko Westermann gifted the ball to Dimitri Foulquier and the French full-back made no mistake from 12 yards out.

The home side continued to pepper the Betis goal in the first half as Piti saw his effort saved well by Antonio Adan before Ruben Perez had an opportunity well blocked by the away defence.

However, Betis pulled level late in the first half after Perez handballed the ball in the box and Ruben Castro slotted away the penalty as he sent goalkeeper Andreas the wrong way.

In the second half, Betis started on the front foot as Joaquin saw his long-range shot saved by Andreas before Castro had two efforts blocked by the Granada defence.

Isaac Success then had two chances of his own for the home side, one with either foot, but both were wide of the goal and failed to test Adan.

Youssef El-Arabi came close with a header midway through the second half and Alfred N'Diaye had his strike denied by the Betis defence late on as both sides shared the points.

The result keeps Granada in the bottom three in La Liga while Real Betis stay in 10th in the table.
