Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Adrien Truffert to Everton, Nasser Djiga to Wolves and Napoli's efforts to sign Allan Saint-Maximin.

Everton have been linked with a move for Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert ahead of January's transfer deadline.

With one senior French cap to his name, Truffert was also part of the France Olympic squad that played in front of home crowds last summer and took home the silver medal.

A Rennes youth academy product, Truffert has been a key member of the first team since making his breakthrough as a teenager in 2020, helping his side qualify for Europe in previous years.

With the club now languishing near the bottom of the table and in danger of relegation though, the Daily Mail claim Truffert could be set to leave for the Toffees, with Rennes potentially keen on cashing in on their academy star after spending big this month on the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Brice Samba.

Should the 23-year-old come through the door at Goodison Park, he will provide much-needed competition at left-back for Vitalii Mykolenko, with the Ukrainian international the only senior left-sided defender at the club.

It may not be quite as busy a deadline day as anticipated at Everton today, given their run of three straight wins which has moved them nine points clear of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Wolves respond to missing out on Danso

Another Premier League club set to bring in a defender today could be Wolverhampton Wanderers, who have reportedly made a bid for Red Star Belgrade centre-back Nasser Djiga.

Wolves have been forced to re-enter the market after they saw their move for Lens' versatile defender Kevin Danso hijacked by Tottenham Hotspur yesterday, and now appear to have switched their attention to the 22-year-old Burkina Faso international.

Sky Sports News claim that a bid of £10m has been formally submitted for the player who made 10 appearances in the Champions League this season for the Serbian club, who were eliminated in the league phase.

Djiga was left out of the squad for the Red Star's 2-1 win away to TSC Backa Topola on Sunday, suggesting that an exit from the club could be on the cards for the young defender.

Wolves boss Vitor Pereira has gone on the record to state he wants another central defender to join the club before the deadline, after already signing Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims earlier this month.

Napoli hit stumbling block in Saint-Maximin approach?

From two potential new Premier League players to a former one, and Allan Saint-Maximin's move to Napoli is reportedly in danger of falling through on deadline day.

The former Newcastle United fan favourite is on loan at Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce at present, from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport claim that due to three clubs working on the deal, it is making it more difficult and complicated to complete.

It appears Napoli need to strike a deal with both Al-Ahli and Fenerbahce to sign the player and prise him away from his loan contract in Istanbul, and that is where they have hit a stumbling block.

Antonio Conte is in the market for a winger as the Partenopei are still yet to bring in a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who left for Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
