England suffered their first-ever defeat against an Africa nation as they slumped to a disappointing 3-1 loss in their friendly encounter against Senegal.
England came into the contest with hopes of producing an improved display from Saturday's 1-0 over Andorra in World Cup qualifying.
The early signs were positive for the Three Lions, as Harry Kane required just seven minutes to score his 73rd goal in an England shirt.
However, Senegal responded positively to Kane's opener and netted a deserved equaliser through Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr, ensuring the two countries went into the break on level terms.
Pape Thiaw's side went on to complete the surprising turnaround just past the hour mark when Habib Diarra threaded his shot through Dean Henderson's legs, putting his country on the brink of a famous win.
England thought they had found a late equaliser when Jude Bellingham scored from close range following a corner, only to see the effort controversially ruled out for a handball against Levi Colwill.
Senegal then piled more misery on the Three Lions, as Cheikh Sabaly netted a stoppage-time effort to condemn Thomas Tuchel to his first defeat as England boss.
SPORTS MOLE'S VERDICT
Tuchel will leave this international window with more questions and answers after seeing his side produce two underwhelming performances.
They were only able to score the one goal in Saturday's win over Andorra, and delivered another subpar display against an impressive Senegal side.
While a number of regulars were not involved, the feeble manner of the defeat certainly represents a cause for concern even at this early stage of Tuchel's tenure.
Meanwhile, Senegal will be delighted with their performance, demonstrating why they have proven to be a tough team to beat in recent times.
In fact, they are now unbeaten in 24 matches (excluding a penalty shootout defeat in the Africa Cup of Nations final) and thoroughly deserved their victory at the City Ground.

Bellingham thinks he has found a precious equaliser. The Real Madrid star tucks the ball home from close range, but referee Stephanie Frappart is sent to the monitor to review a potential handball in Colwill's knockdown. The official ultimately rules the handball as deliberate and chalks the goal off.

After enjoying a successful season with Palace, Sarr carried his club form onto the international stage to play a key role in a memorable victory for Senegal.
The 27-year-old showed great determination to score the equalising goal at a crucial point of the contest, laying the foundation for his team to complete the turnaround in the second half.
In addition to Sarr, Koulibality, Diarra and Camara all deserve plaudits for their performances in the game.
