Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford has been filmed in Barcelona as he prepares to complete his season-long loan move to Camp Nou.

The 27-year-old's short-term future - and potentially long-term future - is finally about to be resolved, as Barcelona have agreed a deal to sign him for the 2025-26 season with an option to buy.

The reigning La Liga champions can reportedly activate a £26m clause to make his stay permanent next summer, and he has accepted a 15% pay cut to leave Old Trafford again.

Rashford can still expect to pocket a mammoth £12.1m yearly salary while at Camp Nou, where he will be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski in attack.

The England international is now putting the finishing touches on his Spain switch, and he was filmed in a car in Barcelona after touching down on Sunday evening.

Smiling Rashford gives thumbs-up ahead of Barcelona transfer

Rashford gave a smile and a thumbs-up when a fan welcomed him to Barcelona, but the video cut off after another member of the public asked the attacker if he was happy to make the move.

Another video shared by journalist Fabrizio Romano purportedly shows Rashford arriving at a Barcelona airport, where the Man United attacker walks through flanked by his entourage before disappearing out of view.

The Old Trafford academy product is now poised to undergo his medical with the Spanish champions, and if all goes to plan, he could join the squad on their pre-season tour of Asia later this month.

Barcelona's first game of the summer comes against Vissel Kobe on July 27, where Rashford could make his debut, and the Blaugrana will also face FC Seoul and Daegu FC in South Korea.

Should the attacker join permanently next summer, he will bid farewell to boyhood club Man United having come up with 138 goals and 77 assists in 426 appearances for the Red Devils in all tournaments.

Rashford also contributed a respectable four goals and six assists in 17 appearances for Aston Villa in the second half of last season, but the Lions decided against signing him permanently for £40m.

Englishmen in Barcelona as Rashford finalises Man Utd transfer

When it comes to Englishmen in Spain, Real Madrid is the first club that springs to mind, having housed David Beckham, Michael Owen, Jude Bellingham, Steve McManaman and even Jonathan Woodgate once upon a time.

However, Barcelona have not welcomed a Three Lions player to Camp Nou for nearly 40 years; the last Englishman to sport the Catalan stripes was Gary Lineker during the late 1980s.

Lineker's three-year stay at Barcelona saw the 64-year-old rack up 51 goals in 138 matches, and he is one of just 11 England players to represent La Blaugrana, and the only one this side of World War II.

At youth level, current Aston Villa prospect Louie Barry became the first English player to turn out for Barca's La Masia academy side in 2019, but the attacker never made a senior appearance for the Catalan giants.
