Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Wednesday's Premier League London derby with Chelsea.

Arsenal could potentially welcome Takehiro Tomiyasu back to the squad for Wednesday's Premier League London derby with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Japanese right-back was due to return to team training after the loss to Southampton, but Mikel Arteta will surely only consider him for minutes off the bench following his long layoff.

Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney are both out for the long-term, and it remains to be seen if Alexandre Lacazette will recover from COVID-19 in time to make the journey.

Aaron Ramsdale did not cover himself in glory for Jan Bednarek's winner on the South Coast, but the 23-year-old is in no danger of losing his place alongside Gabriel Magalhaes and Ben White.

Cedric Soares should hold his spot at right-back amid Tomiyasu's woes, and Arteta is also expected to keep the faith with Nuno Tavares at left-back after some brighter moments from the Portuguese at St Mary's.

A distinct lack of midfield options sees the engine room pick itself, with Martin Odegaard continuing just ahead of Albert Sambi Lokonga and Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal fans have been crying out for Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe to start a game together, and Arteta may give that formula a go here as he desperately seeks to avoid a fourth loss on the bounce for his confidence-depleted side.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tavares; Xhaka, Lokonga; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Martinelli
