Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Arsenal could line up for Wednesday's Premier League clash against Everton.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could recall Thomas Partey to the starting lineup for Wednesday's Premier League meeting with Everton at the Emirates Stadium.

The Ghana midfielder recovered from a thigh injury to make the bench against Leicester City, where Jorginho put in another impressive performance from the first whistle.

However, with a rigorous physical test awaiting them this week, Jorginho's positive run in the first team may come to an end as Partey returns to partner Granit Xhaka.

Arteta played down the chances of Partey starting in his pre-game press conference, but that could very well have just been smoke and mirrors from the Gunners boss.

With Partey fit again, only Gabriel Jesus and Mohamed Elneny are absent as they recover from knee injuries, although Eddie Nketiah was dropped from the first XI on Saturday due to a reported knock.

In his absence, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard both put in stellar displays, with the former scoring the winner while Trossard's sublime effort in the first half was disallowed by VAR.

Arteta should therefore be reluctant to drop either man, while Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard should complete the attacking quartet, even with Fabio Vieira banging on the door for a start.

The tight turnaround could tempt Arteta into some full-back alterations, but Oleksandr Zinchenko's effectiveness in the middle could prove pivotal, so Kieran Tierney may have to accept a spot on the bench again.

However, it is not difficult to envisage Takehiro Tomiyasu taking over right-back duties from Ben White, as Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba line up in front of Aaron Ramsdale once again.

Arsenal possible starting lineup: Ramsdale; Tomiyasu, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Xhaka, Partey; Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli; Trossard
