Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo denies reports that he is closing in on a move to Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr.

Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed reports that he is set to sign for Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr.

The 37-year-old has been on the lookout for a new club since Man United terminated his contract at the end of November following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Talk TV.

Several reports claimed that Ronaldo was close to agreeing a lucrative deal to sign for Al-Nassr, but the player himself has stated that is not the case.

When questioned about the speculation following Portugal's last 16 win over Switzerland at the World Cup, Ronaldo said: "No that's not true - not true."

He has also turned down a move to play in Australia's A-League, while Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has ruled out signing the experienced forward.

Sporting Lisbon have also been linked with their former academy product, who dropped to the bench for Portugal's 6-1 victory over Switzerland, and his replacement, Goncalo Ramos, scored a hat-trick.

Ronaldo is likely to be among the substitutes when Portugal face Morocco in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.
