Wolverhampton Wanderers announce whether Pablo Sarabia will be leaving the club or extending his contract into next season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that Pablo Sarabia will be leaving Molineux at the end of his contract in June.

The Spain international arrived at Wolves from Paris Saint-Germain in January 2023 in a £4.4m deal that was regarded as a coup given the player's status on the European scene.

Sarabia has since been a valued member of the squad, making a total of 36 starts and 30 substitute outings in the Premier League across a two-and-a-half year spell.

With eight goals and nine assists to his name, including two strikes that have won the club's goal of the season of the award, the 33-year-old will be fondly remembered by the Wolves fanbase.

However, the decision has been taken to move on from the West Midlands outfit, all parties seemingly going their separate ways in an amicable manner.

"I was very, very happy"

Speaking to the club's official website, Sarabia talked fondly of his time at Wolves, showing his gratitude for what he describes as a memorable time in his career.

Sarabia said: "I was very, very happy there, with my family and everyone at Wolves. Everyone tried to help me and my family, and for me that's the most important thing in life.

"I have very good memories of Wolves in terms of quality of the life, in terms of playing with the supporters, every single game I felt them in the stadium, and because of this I just want to say thanks for everything."

He added: "I'm thankful for everything, for each moment of support. I feel them behind me every single time I try something.

"I try to work a lot, not just on the pitch, to help every single teammate, and I try to help the manager, and every single situation, the bad situations, the good situations, every single moment I'm behind the team and I think it is the most important. I expect that the people know it because with my commitment to the team, I always tried to do my best.

"Always I will be a supporter of Wolves. I wish the best for Wolves every single season. I'm going to support Wolves for all my life, because I'm very, very thankful."

Wolves ready for rebuild?

With Matheus Cunha on the brink of joining Manchester United in a £62.5m deal and Nelson Semedo likely to leave on a free transfer, Wolves are in a position where a busy summer is inevitable.

On a positive note, there should be a large transfer budget and considerable space on the wage bill for Vitor Pereira to acquire his chosen targets.

Despite only finishing in 16th position in the Premier League table, Wolves will be viewed as an attractive option, aided by Brazil internationals Andre and Joao Gomes manning the engine room and Jorgen Strand Larsen having emerged as a top Premier League striker with 14 goals and four assists in his first campaign in English football.
