Quique Flores: 'I wasn't worried about Troy Deeney goal drought'

Watford head coach Quique Flores insists that he was never worried about Troy Deeney's Premier League goal drought, after the striker netted in a 2-0 win over Stoke City.

Watford head coach Quique Flores has suggested that he was never worried about Troy Deeney's Premier League goal drought.

The Hornets captain netted his first top-flight goal in a 2-0 victory over Stoke City this afternoon, and although Flores is happy Deeney opened his account for the season, the Spaniard has insisted that he does not want to focus on the issue.

"I wasn't worried. I didn't talk too much with Deeney about this matter, I didn't want an obsession [with the goal drought]," Flores told Sky Sports News.

"Finally in the natural way came the goal, and it's very important for the confidence of the player of course, but I wasn't worried about his situation."

Deeney has scored 82 goals in 230 Watford appearances since joining the club from Walsall in 2010.
