RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer is reportedly keen on a move away from the German club amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

RB Leipzig midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has reportedly set his sights on an exit from the German club, amid rumoured interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The Austria international was a key figure for Leipzig last season as he scored nine goals and provided seven assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for Julian Nagelsmann's side.

Sabitzer only has one year remaining on his current contract at the Red Bull Arena, and Leipzig's CEO Oliver Mintzlaff is believed to have indicated that the club are looking to reduce the size of the squad.

According to The Athletic, the central midfielder is open to a new challenge after spending the last six years at Leipzig, and Spurs are showing interest in his services.

Tottenham have shown interest in the past only for Sabitzer's then-release clause of €50m (£43m) to price the Premier League club out of a deal, but this summer he could leave Germany for €17.5m (£15.1m).

During his six-year spell at Leipzig, Sabitzer has netted 52 times and produced 42 assists in 227 appearances for the club.
