Tottenham Hotspur confirm the appointment of Thomas Frank and four members of his backroom team, and the former Brentford manager's contract length is also revealed.

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the arrival of Thomas Frank as their new head coach, as the Dane steps into Ange Postecoglou's shoes.

The former Brentford boss was quickly earmarked as a top contender to replace Postecoglou following the Australian's sacking just two weeks after Spurs' Europa League triumph.

Frank recently gave Tottenham the thumbs-up, while the club agreed to pay Brentford a reported £10m in compensation, as the 51-year-old was contracted to the Bees for another two seasons.

Negotiations to also bring Frank's right-hand man Justin Cochrane to the club were the only thing holding up a deal, but Tottenham successfully convinced the latter to make the switch across the capital too.

Now, the Lilywhites have officially unveiled their new coaching team, which comprises Frank, Cochrane and three other backroom staff members.

Frank has committed himself to Tottenham for the next three years until the summer of 2028, and he will also be joined in North London by Chris Haslam, Joe Newton and Andreas Georgson.

Haslam first joined Brentford in 2010 and held various fitness-based positions during his time at the club, and he will become Tottenham's new Head of Performance & First Team Assistant Coach.

Meanwhile, 29-year-old Newton will serve as a match analyst, and Georgson joins after one season at Manchester United, prior to which he was also an assistant to Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Thomas Frank as our new Head Coach on a contract that runs until 2028," Tottenham said in a statement.

"In Thomas we are appointing one of the most progressive and innovative head coaches within the game. He has a proven track record in player and squad development and we look forward to him leading the team as we prepare for the season ahead."

Frank departs Brentford having overseen 136 wins, 71 draws and 110 defeats from 317 matches in charge, masterminding the Bees' rise from a Championship side to European outsiders in the Premier League.

Before Frank can even think about improving or trimming down his squad, the Scandinavian's first job is just to get the players on his side; many were believed to have been furious at the decision to sack Postecoglou.

Multiple members of Spurs' first-team squad posted touching tributes to the Australian, although Frank's warm, approachable nature means that he should have no issues quickly building rapports with his new crop of players.

The Dane can then turn his attention to a critical summer of spending, and he is said to be determined to bring both Bryan Mbeumo and Nathan Collins to North London with him.

The latter's arrival would be particularly useful if Cristian Romero cannot resist the pull of Atletico Madrid, but with Champions League football back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Frank may have a slightly easier time convincing his prized assets to stay put.
