Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Alaves

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's La Liga clash with Alaves.

Real Madrid will be looking to recover from back-to-back defeats when they resume their 2020-21 La Liga campaign away to Alaves on Saturday night.

Los Blancos have lost their last two games in all competitions, suffering a 2-1 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals of the Spanish Super Cup on January 14 before going down 2-1 to third-tier side Alcoyano in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.

Zinedine Zidane's side are on an eight-game unbeaten run in La Liga, though, and currently sit second in the table, four points behind leaders Atletico Madrid.

Here, Sports Mole runs through all of Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Alaves, who are currently 17th in Spain's top flight.

Rodrygo Goes

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Rodrygo Goes had to be stretchered off the field against Granada on December 23 after picking up a thigh problem, and the Brazilian is now facing an extended period on the sidelines, possibly as long as three months.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: January 30 (vs. Levante)

Dani Carvajal was again not involved against Alcoyano on Wednesday night due to a knock, and the Spain international will also miss out for the champions this weekend.

Sergio Ramos

Possible return date: January 30 (vs. Levante)

Sergio Ramos did not complete the warm up ahead of the clash with Athletic in the Super Cup, having picked up a knee issue. The club captain surprisingly started the semi-final and went on to play the full match, but he missed out against Alcoyano and is not in the squad for this match.

Versatile defender Nacho is currently self-isolating after coming into close contact with someone who had tested positive for coronavirus, meaning that the Spaniard will not be available here.
